 This pic shows and actual job application form, notice how small space there is, how are us job hunters supposed to fit in the information when there's hardly any room? This is another application form and notice under REFEREES it says about you giving permission to the employer to look at your own personal profile on social media, would you consent to this? 26 November 2024 I applied for a job and in application form they asked for my pronouns. When job hunting we do face barriers or as I prefer to call them challenges. When you've been a stay-at-home parent/caregiver and it's time to return to the workforce there are barriers. Barriers like our kids who are under 14 years old and still need adult supervision, to get them to school and bring them home again, so unless the hours of work are within these times you can't commit to the job. I was interested in a Hospital Aide job but the hours were during getting kids ready for school and taking them to school so couldn't even apply for it. So yeah our kids can be a challenge to finding work too, nothing against them of course. Not just our kids ages when they are sick from school our job needs to work in with our family life too and some of us don't have anyone who will take care of them while you go to work. I saw a job advertised in Countdown Northwood so inquired about it and to apply for this job I had to do it online. I follow instructions to apply online and to my surprise the job isn't at Countdown Northwood, its at Countdown Colombo St, Beckenham. Why is this ad in Northwood when the job is actually in Beckenham? I don't understand. This is another job that was advertised in a place where the job wasn't. I was in Northlands Mall and saw a job ad so went inside store to inquire how to apply for it. I was told the job is actually at Westfield Riccarton. How misleading is this to see the job ad in store in Northlands Mall thinking the job is for that particular store only to find out the job is at Westfield Riccarton. Frustrating :#

It takes time getting your job application together. It means to  type up your CV/Resume before you've even started filling out the job application questions. Today it's all about technology using computers/laptops/Notebooks etc just to apply for work. Online job applications require more time and effort too. I was in the middle of doing an online application and MY GOD QUESTIONS SEEMED NEVER ENDING. They want you to attach your CV so you need to have it saved on file to do this, lucky I had the choice of being able to type up my CV since my file wasn't an accepted format. Time was spent typing my CV, proofreading my cv and saving it too, yes always remember to save :) My CV is typed up saved and now on to the online questions. All good till they want me to attach 2 forms of ID and I'm thinking why do they want this personal information online when they can just get it in person at the job interview? I then read if I don't attach my 2 forms of ID my job application ...

Finding a job in Christchurch is so frustrating. I've been a stay-home-mum for 10 years now and returned to the workforce after my sons had their first year at school. Despite many job applications and 3 interviews the only work I've found is casual work and it's been 2 years now. Believe me I have and am still trying to find work since the causal work I do have is paid on commission and its not stable enough financially I need to find a job that is. Today finding work in Christchurch sometimes goes beyond challenging. At the moment there's a job at Pizza Hut and to apply for the job is an online application. I've been through all the questions and MY GOD IT'S NEVER ENDING :(  For this application they want you to add 2 forms of ID too, yes online and if you don't your application wont be accepted.  What happened to paper applications, you fill them out, attach your CV and any copies of ID they want, either post or drop it into the place of business you...
